    Dr. Asa Paris

    Alongside his corrections leadership, Dr. Paris is a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapist and Addiction Specialist in private practice, serving both adolescents and adults. He is also a Behavioral Health Officer in the New Jersey Army National Guard and a Part-Time Lecturer in the Master of Social Work program at Rutgers University.

    His clinical focus has included sexual assault survivors, substance use disorders, veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, and justice-involved populations. He holds national certifications as a Master Resilience Trainer, Suicide Intervention Trainer, Certified Jail Manager (CJM), and Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Auditor.

    An active member of the American Jail Association (AJA), New Jersey County Jail Wardens Association (NJCJWA), and National Council on Alcoholism (NCADD), Dr. Paris frequently presents on resilience, suicide prevention, reentry, and the intersection of incarceration with public health.

    Matt holds several key certifications, including completion of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy at Sam Houston University, Certified Public Manager from Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration, and Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional from the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare. Under his leadership, the Burlington County Detention Center earned accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare in January 2023 with a perfect 100% score. That same year, he received the County Service Award from the New Jersey Association of Counties.

    Stacy Schmalz

    Currently serving as the Corporate Compliance Manager with CFG Health, Stacy oversees organizational adherence to healthcare and correctional standards, with particular emphasis on NCCHC accreditation processes. She holds a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma, underscoring a dedication to continuous improvement and operational efficiency, and maintains certification as a Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP).
