Dr. Michael Berger is a surgical podiatrist and certified wound care specialist with over 5 years in practice. Dr. Berger specializes in wound care, amputation prevention and diabetic limb salvage. Dr. Berger completed his medical training at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, his intern year at Temple University Hospital as well as his surgical residency at Virtual Health System in Voorhees, NJ. He is a Fellow in the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing.
At the completion of his training, he started a comprehensive onsite wound care and amputation prevention program for the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, where he served as the Statewide Wound Care Specialist for the sentenced and pre-trial contracts, overseeing care for the greater than 17,000 incarcerated individuals across the state. He has had the privilege of lecturing both locally as well as nationally on the importance of initiating a comprehensive onsite wound care and amputation prevention program in the correctional setting.
